The Car, Wireless Van, Ford Type was a military wireless vehicle based on the Ford Sedan Delivery commercial design. Purchased from Ford, it was outfitted by the military with a Wireless Set No. 1.
The Royal Canadian Corps of Signals acquired six of the 1934 pattern Ford delivery sedans as wireless vans. An additional sedan, a 1935 pattern, was acquired after gaining approval of a request to the Privy Council to purchase a "Wireless Control" vehicle.
The vehicles can be seen in this 1936 photo with the closest vehicles in the front line being the six 1934 pattern sedans and the seventh vehicle being the 1935 pattern sedan.
