Certified to be a true copy of a Minute of a Meeting of the Committee of the Privy council, approved by His Excellency the Governor General on the 13th February 1935

The Committee of the Privy Council have had before them a Report, dated 7th February, 1935, from the Minister of National Defence, representing that the Department of National Defence requires the following vehicles: -

FOR DELIVERY TO CAMP BORDEN, ONT

1 - Car, Wireless Control, Ford Type.
5 - Cars, 2-seater, Wireless, Ford Type.
1 - Lorry, light, Wireless, Cabin and Chassis, Ford Type.

FOR DELIVERY TO OTTAWA, ONT

1 - Car, 2-seater, Wireless, Ford Type.
1 - Lorry, light, Wireless, Cabin and Chassis, Ford Type.

The Minister states that the cars in question are a modified passenger type but are not intended for passenger service; that all the vehicles will be fitted in the workshops of the Department with wireless telegraph sets and will be utilized in the training of troops, and that much of the work will be across country and the types of vehicles mentioned have been selected, after careful study, as the most suitable for the purpose.

The Minister further states that Messrs. Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited, Montreal, by whom the vehicles required are manufactured, have submitted the following prices:

1 - Car, Wireless Control, Ford Type. $911.22
5 - Cars, 2-seater, Wireless, Ford Type. 3,893.00
1 - Lorry, light, Wireless, Cabin and Chassis, Ford Type. 919.34

FOR DELIVERY TO OTTAWA, ONT

1 - Car, 2-seater, Wireless, Ford Type. $785.76
1 - Lorry, light, Wireless, Cabin and Chassis, Ford Type. 926.34

Total Cost ........ $7,436.46

The necessary funds from which to make payment are included in the General Stores Vote, Department of National Defence, for the fiscal year 1934-35.

The Minister, on the advice of the Deputy Minister of national Defence, recommends that the quotations submitted by Messrs. Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited be accepted, the prices being considered fair and reasonable.

The Committee concur in the foregoing recommendation and submit the same for approval.
