Having had to revert in rank to Private, he was again made a Signalling Sergeant in February 1917. In September 1917 he was transferred to the Signal Troop Canadian Cavalry Brigade with whom he served for the remainder of the war. Returning to Canada, he was demobilized 25 March 1919 at Hamilton Ontario.
