G.O. 91/34 - REGULATIONS FOR THE CLOTHING OF THE CANADIAN MILITIA, PART I, (PERMANENT ACTIVE MILITIA) 1924 - AMENDMENTS (No. 8)
Regulations for the Clothing of the Canadian Militia, Part I (Permanent Active Militia), 1924, are amended as follows, effective 1st November 1934. -
Appendix I as authorized by G.O. No. 40 of 1926 -
After detail of "Artillery Survey Badges" as authorized by G.O. No. 61 of 1929, insert -
"Badges for Qualified Operators Class I Wireless and Line Telegraphy, Royal Canadian Corps of Signals
Wireless Telegraphy . . . 1 per all other ranks who qualify in accordance with R.C. Signals General Instructions No. 2. Line Telegraphy . . . 1 per all other ranks who qualify in accordance with R.C. Signals General Instructions No. 2."
Under "Signallers" cancel detail opposite "Crossed Flags" and substitute:
"Personnel of Cavalry, Artillery, and Infantry units who qualify annually as 1st or 2nd Class signallers at the annual technical inspection and classification of signallers and borne within the authorized establishment of signallers of their unit.
N.C.O's in possession of an assistant instructor's certificate for signalling."
After para. 4 insert:
"5. Wireless and line telegraphy badges will be worn on the left forearm of the jacket only. Those qualifying in both wireless and line telegraphy will wear the senior badge (wireless telegraphy) only. In the case of W.O's, and personnel wearing good conduct badges, the badge will be worn above the rank or good conduct bdge.
6. Qualified signallers will wear the signallers badge on the left forearm of the jacket. The centre of the badge worn on jackets with pointed cuffs will be 1/2 inch above the point of the cuff. On jackets with plain cuffs the lower edge or point of the badge will be 6 1/2 inches from the bottom of the sleeve.
7. An N.C.O. holding an assistant instructor's certificate for signalling will wear the signallers badge on both arms of the jacket with the lower edge 3/4 inch above the point of the "V" of the chevron.
