Barrows, Drum, WD

The Barrows, Drum, WD is a wheeled cart for laying field cable. It was designed to be used on the ground but could also be used from the back of vehicles.

The difference between versions isn't captured here (so far!) but the version used in the Second World War was Mark 2. By the mid-1950s, the version in use was a Mark 4. During the time of the Great War, a Barrows Drum Universal was used.
