36 Signals Regiment, a communications unit of the Canadian Army Reserves, was authorized by Ministerial Order dated 26 July 2011, the result of amalgamating 721 Communication Regiment, 723 Communication Squadron and 725 Communication Squadron. In 2012, again by Ministerial Order, the unit name was corrected to 36 Signal Regiment, the correct styling of the unit name (Signal vs Signals).

36 Signal Regiment is part of 36 Canadian Brigade Group in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Canada. The unit consists of:

• Regimental Headquarters in Halifax, NS
• 1 Squadron in Charlottetown, PEI
• 3 Squadron in Halifax, NS
• 5 Squadron in Glace Bay, NS
