1st Canadian Signal Regiment
Active 9 October 1952 – 16 December 1953

The main body of 1st Canadian Signal Regiment was assembled at Camp Borden, Ontario.[1] The components of the unit included:[2][3]

No. 1 Squadron, RCCS (Kingston)
"E" Troop (with 79th Field Regiment - West Germany)
"F" Troop (with 2nd Field Regiment RCHA - Winnipeg)
"G" Troop (with 81st Field Regiment - Petawawa)
"J" Troop (with HQ 27 CIBG - West Germany)
"K" Troop (with No 25 Canadian Infantry Brigade Replacement Group)

Effective 1 March 1953, 81st Field Regiment Signal Troop was reactivated and "G" Troop was absorbed by its parent unit. All personnel from "G" Troop were posted to 81st Field Regiment Signal Troop[4]

Effective 1 December 1953, "X" Troop was created and allocated to support Lord Strathconas Horse (Royal Canadians)[5] concurrent with the independent unit "W2 Signal Troop" being reduced to nil strength.
