1 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters and Signal Squadron (1 CBG HQ and Sig Sqn) (fr: Escadron du Quartier général et des transmission, 1er Groupe-brigade du Canada) was authorized effective 1 December 1978 by redesignating 1 Combat Group Headquarters and Signal Squadron.[1]
In 1987 the French version of the unit name was changed to Quartier général et Escadron des transmissions du 1er Groupe-brigade du Canada.[2]
Effective 5 August 1992, the unit was redesignated 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters and Signal Squadron.[3]
